Made with lean ground turkey and fresh ingredients for a fabulous family meal!
Bring large pot of water to a boil. Season liberally with salt. Cook pasta according to package directions. Start your sauce while the pasta is cooking.
Heat large skillet (cast iron if you have it) over medium high heat.
Add olive oil and ground turkey. Saute' until cooked through and slightly brown and crumbly.
Add chopped onion and garlic. Sauté until soft.
Add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, basil and oregano. TASTE FOR SEASONING.
Simmer for about 5 minutes until heated through and bubbly.
Drain cooked pasta and add to the tomato sauce. Stir well. Top with cheese and continue to simmer until cheese is melted. Serve with simple green salad and fresh baguette!
use ground beef, sausage or ground chicken in lieu of ground turkey. Add diced carrots, celery, zucchini or chopped broccoli if desired. Use any shape of pasta you have on hand!
