Salted Caramel Chocolate Rice Krispie Treats

These decadent rice krispie treats are too good for the kiddo's!  Store bought caramel sauce is mixed in with the marshmallows to make a super salty sweet treat!

  • For Krispie Treats
  • 8 oz jar salted caramel sauce in you can't find this. Add 1 teaspoon of salt to jar of caramel sauce
  • 10 oz bag of marshmallows
  • 6 cups Rice Krispie cereal
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • For Chocolate Ganache
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 12 oz bag semi sweet or dark chocolate chips I used a dark chip by Ghiradelli but semi sweet will be fine
  • Sea salt for topping


  1. Butter a 9 x 13 pan.
  2. In large pot, melt butter and marshmallows.
  3. Add jar of caramel sauce and stir.
  4. Add Rice Krispies and stir well.
  5. Pour into prepared 9 x 13 inch pan.
  6. Using the back of a tablespoon that has been buttered. Smooth out the treats.
  7. For Ganache
  8. In medium saucepan bring cream just to the boiling point. Edges should be bubbling. Remove from heat. Add chocolate chips and whisk until well combined. Let cool 10 minutes and pour onto krispie treats. Cool in refrigerator until firm. About 1 hour, sprinkle with sea salt and slice!
