These sugar cookie bars melt in your mouth! I used peppermint in the frosting but you can omit or change it up with almond or vanilla.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9 x 13 cake pan with non-stick spray.
Beat together butter and cream cheese until well blended.
Mix in sugar, egg and vanilla.
Add flour, baking soda and baking powder. Mix well.
Spread dough into prepared pan and bake for about 20 minutes.
Using a mixer beat the butter until smooth. Add one cup of powdered sugar along with one tablespoon of the half and half. Alternate until it forms a thick frosting. Mix in extract.
Frost cooled bars and top with crushed peppermint candy!
