No yeast, no rise time – A tender, chewy bagel that is done is about 45 minutes from start to finish!
You ever see those recipes that go boom on the internet? This one has been viral for sometime…and I am asking myself, what took me so long to make them!
I have tried to find the original creator of this bread miracle, to give them credit, but it’s like finding a bagel in a haystack. So I will post without giving dough credit…get it dough credit? Not due credit? Is a joke a joke if you have to explain the joke?
You can make this two ways. With self rising flour (which I never have on hand), or our way with all purpose flour, baking powder and salt. One less bag of something you have to buy.
Hey and these don’t have to be bagels either! They can be pizza or rolls or calzone or anything you want them to be! Bread related that is, it can’t be a car or a vacation, unless you are really good with play dough…
How to make 2 Ingredient Bagels:
This is gonna go fast guys…
Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Add fat free plain greek yogurt. (we love Fage brand. Chobani is a close second).
Mix.
The dough is incredibly silky and super easy to work with!
The one change I made to this recipe of unknown origin, was to MAKE IT BIGGER! MORE BAGELS PLEASE! The original recipe with 4 bagels just wasn’t gonna cut it around her.
Roll dough into desired shapes. I scored the rolled dough and was able to get 8 small bagels.
And if you are on the Weight Watcher program, where this recipe is loved by all. Thats only 2 freestyle points per bagel. I feeeellll skinnnayyyyy!
Brush with egg, sprinkle with your favorite bagel topping and pop them in the oven!
Bake for 25 minutes at 375 degrees and boom! Ya got bagels!
I have been toasting these babies up for a few days and served them with our Skinny Tomato and Roasted Red Pepper soup!

2 Ingredient Bagels
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour or one cup of self rising flour and omit baking powder
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1 1/2 cups plain fat free greek yogurt (like Fage brand) well stirred so no liquid remains
- 1 egg beaten to brush on top of bagels
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Combine flour, baking powder and salt.
- Add yogurt and mix. I like to use my Kitchen Aid for this but any mixer or just your hands will work.
- Cut into 8 pieces. Roll each piece into about a 5" piece and form a circle. Pinching the ends.
- Brush with beaten egg and top with your favorite toppings like sesame or salt flakes.
Notes
This dough makes great pizza, rolls or even pretzel shapes!

It’s really not a 2 ingredients recipe but a 4 or 5 ingredient recipe….but none the less not bad!

How do you store leftover bagels
LaughingSpatula.com says
Hi Linda! Ziploc bag works great! I like to toast them when reheating.

Hi, I love your recipes and have just spent more than an hour browsing and printing new ones 🙂
I have zero bread baking skills. This seems great! If I only have regular jogurt , can I drain it to use in the place of greek yogurt?
Aly says
Remove from oven, crank up to 500 and brown tops
Regular yogurts are too wet. To use that, drain overnight.

Oh yum! I’ve made a gluten-free version of these and they’re SO good!
LaughingSpatula.com says
Hi Elaine! What do you use to make them gluten free?
Lee Ojascastro says
I’m going to try this for sure. What do you think of boiling them before baking? This step seems essential for a chewy bagel but not sure this dough is up to it. Thoughts?
LaughingSpatula.com says
I know thats standard procedure for bagels with yeast, but honestly, I have no idea how it will work with yogurt based bread so I can’t recommend. So sorry!
