If you need a really easy, delicious and garden fresh beverage, look no further than Strawberry Basil Lemonade. My son and I picked fresh basil from the garden and muddled it with farmers market strawberries for the freshest tasting, Strawberry Basil infused Lemonade. So good, and so fresh!

Making Strawberry Basil Lemonade

This recipe is a super flavorful, fresh take on a classic strawberry lemonade. Fresh basil adds really nice depth of flavor while the fresh muddled strawberries add a refreshing sweetness. I used store bought lemonade for this but if you wanted to make your own you certainly could!

This Strawberry Basil Lemonade Mocktail is the perfect sophisticated non-alcoholic drink. The fresh from the garden basil adds an herbal twist that makes it feel elevated, while sweet strawberries keep it refreshing and the color super beautiful. Easy to make in large batches—perfect for summer parties, baby showers, or any warm-weather gathering! It’s also beautiful in one of those giant drink dispensers at parties. Something about the fresh basil makes it look so fancy!

Muddling Strawberries & Basil

The best way to really infuse the flavor of strawberries and basil is to muddle them together. I like to rough chop (or rip) fresh basil and muddle it right alongside the strawberries. This presses the leaves and releases the aromatics of the basil. You can add as much, or as little basil as you like.

  • If you need a muddler, this is the one I used. It’s less tan $8 and it goes with a tall cocktail spoon which is nice to have on hand to stir drinks with! I do not recommend using a blender, the basil will become bitter.

Strawberry Basil Lemonade Mocktail

I like to keep my mocktails l layered for aesthetics! ✨ By adding ice before filling the glass with lemonade, you’re able to retain a layered effect.

Regular ice works just fine for this recipe. I used crushed ice for the photos, but nugget ice is my favorite! Did you know you can buy nugget ice at Chick Fil A and at Sonic? Simply ask for a bag of ice in the drive through, they’re less than $5 at both locations, they just aren’t on the menu.

Adding Lemonade

To save time but still have the best flavor for this lemonade, I use store bought lemonade of an all natural recipe. That is, I don’t like any artificial sweetener in my lemonade, because I think it alters the taste!

  • For the best flavor, look for a store bought lemonade that only has water, lemons and sugar in it.

Pour the lemonade slowly on top of the ice, and then garnish. It’s that easy! In less than 3 minutes you just created a gourmet, restaurant quality herb infused strawberry lemonade. Yum!
