We love clean, simple and healthy flavors. This easy Apple Radish Slaw with Lemon Honey Vinaigrette hits all of the marks. Fresh crisp apples meet slightly spicy Dandy Radish Ministicks® for a side dish you’ll love during any season.
All About Radishes
Radishes are actually a member of the mustard and cabbage family, which explains their slightly spicy, tangy flavor. They’re super healthy, rich in antioxidants and they have loads of potassium and folic acid.

Apple Radish Slaw Ingredients
You only need a few ingredients to make this easy slaw recipe. I love how different it is from a regular cabbage slaw flavor wise, but it still has that nice crunchy, refreshing texture from the apples and radishes. The lemon honey vinaigrette gives it such an easy tangy flavor that pairs so well with the apples, too!
- Apples: I like to use Granny Smith for their tartness.
- Dandy Matchstick Radish Ministicks®: They’re precut, prewashed, and high in crunch.
- Fresh Chives: For both color and flavor.
Lemon Honey Vinaigrette
The ingredients of this vinaigrette are pretty simple, and I love this for any salad because it’s so versatile. The lemon in the vinaigrette keeps the apples fresh and their color from browning!
- Olive Oil: Avocado oil will work as well.
- Lemon Juice: Fresh squeezed is best.
- Lemon Zest: From 1 large lemon.
- Honey: Or agave if desired.
- Granulated Garlic: Fresh is overpowering for this recipe.
- Salt
- Pepper
Cutting Apples into Matchsticks
- Since the radishes come washed and precut, the only real handy work here involves chopping the apples into matchsticks and chopping the fresh chives.
- It’s pretty easy to chop apples into matchsticks- simply chop them into slices, and then chop lengthwise until you’re left with thin strips.
Tossing & Serving Apple Radish Slaw
- Once the apples and radishes are in a bowl with the chives, pour the dressing over, and give it a good toss. That’s it!
- This recipe is delicious on its own, but we also loved it on a crostini with some cream cheese, or even ricotta cheese. The rich flavor of spreadable cheese plus the fresh crunchy slaw? Matchstick made in heaven!
