A Limoncello Spritz is a refreshing, bubbly Italian cocktail that we became obsessed with on a recent trip to the Mediterranean.   So easy to make with just 3 ingredients.   Our favorite summer cocktail!

Limoncello Spritz

What is in a Limoncello Spritz –

  • just three little ingredients
    • Limoncello – you can make your own with this easy recipe or buy a bottle at most grocery or liquor stores
    • Prosecco – an Italian version of sparkling wine
    • Club Soda – or mineral water if you prefer

What is the ratio for Limoncello Spritz –

The best Limoncello Spritz we had was in a little restaurant in Venice and I got this  straight from the Italian Bartender so you know its authentic.

  • Equal parts of all three.  1/3 Limoncello, 1/3 Prosecco and 1/3 Club Soda.   Feel free to adjust if you like it more bubbly, less sweet.  Sometimes I increase the club soda to  make it less boozy.  That way I can have two…or three…
  • Make it by the glass or the pitcher – no measuring required.

We love our pool this time of year.  We love it even better with summer cocktails and friends.  I always have this Limoncello Spritz on hand.

It’s like Sunshine in a glass!

How to make a Limoncello Spritz

  • Fill a beautiful large glass with crushed ice.
  • Fill the glass 1/3 full of Limoncello Liquor – store bought or homemade.
  • Add 1/3 Prosecco
  • Top with 1/3 club soda
  • Add a garnish of fresh lemon.

Pro Tips for the Perfect Sip:

  • Chill your glass beforehand for an extra refreshing drink.
  • Use high-quality limoncello for the most authentic flavor. You can find Limoncello at your local liquor and beverage store and in some grocery stores near the liquor section.
  • Swap soda water for tonic or flavored sparkling water for a twist.
  • Garnish generously with fresh sliced lemon and add a pretty straw for the perfect sip.

A few more boozy recipes you might like –

  • Margarita Cupcakes – a for grown up tequila laced treat
  • Froze – a strawberry wine slushy

Cheers!
