Greek Chicken Burgers

 These super fast and fresh Greek Chicken Burgers are made with wholesome ingredients that are stuffed with all the Greek Flavors we love!  Grill indoors our out, with buns or bunless!

We love our bunless burgers around here!   We have enough buns already…ugh.

We added feta, oregano, spinach, fresh lemon and red peppers for a Greek spin.  Okay maybe red peppers are Italian?…what do I know.  But it was darn good, sounds like Greek to me!

These  Greek Chicken Burgers can be grilled indoor or out!

Since our weather does not always permit a lot of outdoor cooking around here, I use this grill pan and love it!  You can see it through out all our burger recipes.  My favorite pan!

Dress them up with cucumber, spinach and a bit of onion.  Super fresh, super yummy!  Stuff them in a pita or plop on a hamburger bun.  We like them plain but if you got room for buns…do it!

Double this recipe and you have a healthy lunch all week long!  Delicious when chopped up and tossed in a salad!  Perfect meal prep!

Greek Chicken Burgers

A flavorful burger reminiscent of greek flavors!  Including peppers, feta and oregano!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground chicken 97/3 percent fat
  • 1/2 cup red peppers - chopped
  • 1/3 cup red onion - diced - more for garnish if desired.
  • 1/3 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1 cup fresh spinach - chopped
  • 1/3 cup panko crumbs
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Serve with sliced red onion if desired

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients
  • Shape into 4 patties.
  • Grill for 4-5 minutes on each side until cooked through.

Notes

Use fresh ground chicken (we like 93/7) or ground turkey. If using breast meat only, you will find your burgers a bit dry. A little fat goes a long way with this burger!

    These Greek Chicken Burgers are absolutely DELICIOUS!!!!
    I modified a little by sautéing the onion (sweet onion, not red)
    and the red bell pepper pepper together before adding to meat mixture.
    I also mixed in a splash of olive oil for some added fat content.
    I cooked ours in a skillet rather than grilled.
    Served them with Turkish Yoghurt Garlic Sauce (recipe on Pinterest)
    and they were a real hit!
    My husband says these are a definite keeper!

    This was pretty good, wasn’t too dry as ground chicken can get. I only substituted the red onion with yellow as we really dislike red. Held up on the grill and didn’t break apart. Will make again.

    The picture of the uncooked burger look to have purple onion in them. Was that left off of the ingredient list? If so, how much onion should I use.

      Shaun it’s a garnish. Slice some onion, put it on your burger. Put as much or as little as you like. Kathi

      I saw that too. The first pic clearly shows chopped onion …there is another with red onion as a garnish. My guess would be you put the chopped red onion in along with the feta, pepper spinach. That’s what I did.

    Kathi, Rachel, Made this for my parents Sunday dinner today. Excellent I used 1lbs white ground chicken and 1/2 lbs ground pork, because I had on hand and was worried about the lack of fat in the ground chicken. My dad (food snob) said, ‘This is gourmet’!!! Made five burgers, cooked (pan fired) three burgers for about fifteen minutes total. Two are in the freezer to be cooked next week. Awesome.

    Excellent! Love your recipes.
    I added diced pitted Kalamata olives and sun-dried tomatoes! And in addition to oregano Greek seasoning. Over-the-top delicious thank you for all your talents. I also mixed half ground chicken thigh with half ground chicken breast it was a good combination thigh meat gave it nice flavor
