This Taco Pizza is a Sunday night staple around here! It’s easy to make, hits all of our favorite flavor profiles and feeds your family with a bit left over for the lunch box tomorrow!
With just a few simple ingredients you can make this family favorite! Perfect for game day or as an appetizer. We used ground beef but ground chicken will make a delicious Chicken Taco Pizza!
Ingredients to make Taco Pizza –
- ground beef
- pizza dough – homemade or store bought
- taco seasoning
- refried beans
- shredded chese
- olives
- chopped tomato
- chopped green onion
What kind of pizza dough should I use?
- we love our easy to make Homemade Pizza Dough and it makes just the right amount for a large sheet pan!
- no time to make your own? Most every store carries a brand of fresh pizza dough in the deli section these days.
- Pizza dough in tubes, next to the cresent rolls in the refrigerator case work well. You’ll need two tubes.
Taco Pizza
- Brown your ground beef. Drain any excess grease. Add the tacos seasoning mix according to package directions. Set aside.
- Heat your oven to 450 degrees. You’ll need a hot oven to crisp up that crust!
- Warm the refried beans in the microwave for one minute to soften up.
- Oil a large baking sheet. We used a 12 x 17. Roll out the pizza dough on a baking sheet.
- Spread the softened refried beans on top of the pizza dough.
- Next pile on the beef, cheese and olives.
Get creative! You can easily substitute ground chicken or turkey or even cooked chopped chicken! Pile on the veggies – bell peppers, mushrooms or jalapeno to name a few. Salsa, guacamole and sour cream as well!
Once out of the oven, top with fresh chopped tomatoes and green onion to brighten it all up!
How to store and reheat Taco Pizza –
- Store in ziplock type baggies for up to 3 days. Freeze for up to 3 months.
- Reheat in the air fryer for 5 minutes or in the oven at 350 degrees for 10 minutes for the best results.
