Everybody loves a good fruit platter but what’s a fruit platter without dip?! Enter, The Best Fruit Dip Recipe. It’s got a lemon lime flavor that goes well with any fruit,  and we add in some plain Greek yogurt for extra tang.

Dipping a strawberry in white fruit dip

What is fruit dip?

It’s a sweet and tangy dip for fruit! Usually it’s served on a fruit platter. It’s made of cream cheese, Greek yogurt, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and the juice & zest of lemons and limes.

You can dip any type of fruit in this dip! Strawberries, watermelon, cantaloupe, apples, pears, honeydew, bananas, pineapple, kiwi, mango, cherries, raspberries, papaya. I think you get it. It’s versatile!

The trick to perfectly smooth fruit dip is softened cream cheese.

Make sure to soften cream cheese before making this dip. Not doing so will result in a lumpy dip. If you are short on time, you can use whipped cream cheese! There are some Greek Cream Cheese spreads that have less calories and fat which are great. Green Mountain is a brand of Greek cream cheese we love, we purchase it at Sprouts.

How to Make Fruit Dip

Mix the cream cheese in a stand mixer (or use a bowl and a hand mixer). Add powdered sugar and yogurt, and mix again. Finally, add in the lemon/lime zest and juice, along with vanilla extract. Mix again, until fully combined.

That’s really it. It’s so easy! My 3 year old son loved licking the spoon. He thought it was frosting.

Fruit Dip in a clear glass bowl with fruit in the back

Transfer the fruit dip to a bowl to serve, and that’s it! I like to garnish mine with a little extra zest for color.  We use a simple lidded Tupperware to store it. This recipe keeps in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

You can customize this recipe a few different ways, here’s some ideas!

  • Use coconut cream instead of yogurt for a tropical taste.
  • Add or sub different citrus zests. Grapefruit and orange would be delicious.
  • Use flavored yogurt versus plain for added flavor.
  • Add mix-ins! Shredded coconut, chopped nuts, and dried fruit are tasty.
