We love crab rangoon anything and this pizza recipe has been in our family for years. Premade pizza crusts and an easy mixture of imitation crab, cream cheese and a few other simple ingredients keep this recipe easy and full of flavor.

Crab Rangoon Pizza Recipe
My dad has been making this crab rangoon pizza since I was born. I can see him in our kitchen, on a Sunday afternoon, getting ready to watch the Seahawks game making one. Usually in my moms way (her kitchen, her rules), he’d drive her crazy in the best way putting his pizza together and then we’d pile on the couch and all grab a piece. I’m not sure the origin of this recipe, but it’s been something that’s been made my entire life.
You can make this low fat: I put a healthy spin on my version of this crab rangoon pizza which is what I’ll use for this recipe. Using a a mixture of Greek Greek Cheese (you could use light if you can’t find this brand, I get it at Sprouts) and Greek Yogurt keeps the calories down. I do add a dabble of mayonnaise but I keep it minimal. I find the flavor is the same, I promise! Just way less fat.
Crab Rangoon Pizza Ingredients
- Imitation Crab
- Or canned crab. Chef’s choice.
- Premade Pizza Crust
- Boboli works great!
- Green Onions
- Save some to garnish.
- Granulated Garlic Powder
- Salt
- Pepper
- Greek Yogurt
- Cream Cheese
- Mayonnaise
- I use Greek Cream Cheese. You could also use reduced fat but I find the flavor is less than I prefer.
- Shredded Mozzarella
- Thai Chili Sauce
- For topping. Optional.
This recipe is really super simple; In fact so simple, I debated on even posting it! Sometimes I find the simplest of recipes from our family history do the best. Some recipes we love that have originated a long time ago in our family include Honey Mustard Chicken and Rice, One Pot Spanish Chicken and Rice, Honey Sesame Dressing, Button Dijon Parmesan Chicken…and mostly every recipe on this site. Those ones specifically have memories attached to them though!

Tips & Storing Crab Rangoon Pizza
Tips & Variations
- This recipe is for a small 8 inch pizza.
- You can increase the serving size by doubling it, which will give you a larger pizza to feed approximately 8 people. Since this is usually served as an appetizer, I plan on each guest eating about 2 pieces.
- If you aren’t concerned about fat content, you can use cream cheese, and mayonnaise in the base.
- I just prefer mine to be a little lighter (and the Greek yogurt tastes the same, honestly!).
- If you like it spicy, add in some chopped jalapeños for a kick.
- You can also top it with hot honey.
Storage & Reheating
If you have leftovers of this carb rangoon pizza, simply store it in a lidded container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. If you want to reheat it, I recommend reheating it in an air fryer to keep the crust crisp. Microwaving it can result in soggy pizza.

Sounds interesting… Is the mozzarella included in the crab mixture or sprinkled over the mixture before baking?
Kathi & Rachel says
Yes! Included in the crab mixture. Just fixed, thank you!
