Mango Iced Tea is a refreshing drink that is super easy to make. Our recipe uses only mango, honey, and black iced tea. You’ll be shocked how easy it is to make, and how delicious it tastes!

Mango Tea Recipe

The base of mango tea is simple brewed black tea. Next, you make a homemade mango puree, sweeten it with a little honey, and add that to the black tea. The best thing about this recipe is you a make it as sweet, or as not-sweet as you prefer!

I find the best mango iced tea comes from using real, ripe mangos. They really make the difference!

Ingredients for Mango Infused Tea:

  • Black Tea
    • My favorite is good old Lipton! Their cold brew can be purchased on Amazon. It tastes just like what Starbucks uses in their black tea. You can brew it to be as light or as dark as you like.
    • If you don’t want to brew your own iced tea, try the Tejava brand of unsweeted iced tea. It’s my favorite store bought unsweetened iced tea! You can find it at Trader Joes and most grocers.
  • Mangos
    • You want them to be pretty ripe for the most sweetness.
    • You can use frozen mangos for this recipe if that’s all you have access to. Substitute 2.5 cups of thawed frozen mango chunks.
  • Honey
    • Use honey, or agave to sweeten the iced tea.
    • Everybody’s taste is different. Go light handed to start and add more if needed.

blending fresh mangos

Mango Iced Tea at Home

Cut the mango into thick slices on all 4 sides outside of the pit. Using the peel as a guide, run it along the lip of the blender to get the mango meat off. You can watch how I did this in the recipe video, or reference the picture below. Basically, you’re peeling the mango against the cup to get the most meat out of it. Super simple, huh?

Flavoring Iced Tea with Mango: I used 4 mangos plus about 3/4 of a gallon of iced tea. I don’t like mine very sweet, but I do like a lot of mango flavor! 4 made this taste mango-ey without it being overpowering. If you want the most mango flavor, use 6 mangos.

Mango Puree

Once the mangos are in the blender, add about 1/4 cup of water, honey and blend until you reach a liquid consistency. Strain the puree before adding it to the brewed iced tea by pushing it through a sieve or a cheesecloth.

Once the mango puree is ready, pour it into the iced tea and stir well.

Once you’ve mixed the mango puree and the iced tea, you can chill it in the refrigerator, or add ice if you prefer.

PRO TIP: If you want a super clear iced tea, you can run it through a cheesecloth to achieve a clear iced tea with no mango pulp.
