Everybody loves Hot Fudge Sundae’s and we are kicking ours up a notch with this homemade Hot Fudge Sauce! It whips up in 10 minutes and uses ingredients you likely already have in your fridge. Nothing is better than homemade and this is no exception to that rule!
If there is one thing we love- it’s chocolate. The best flavor of chocolate has a little bit of tartness, and is not overly sweet, which perfectly describes this homemade chocolate fudge sauce. You can put this sauce over ice cream, on cookies, on brownies, waffles, your finger, a spoon…it won’t last long no matter how you enjoy it, that I can promise you! 🙂
Ingredients Needed to make Fudge Sauce:
- Heavy Cream
- Corn Syrup (light or dark)
- Brown Sugar
- Cocoa Powder
- Dark Chocolate
- Salted Butter
- Vanilla Extract
Combine all of the ingredients (except the butter, vanilla and only 1/2 of the chocolate to start) in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and stir continuously while boiling for about 5 minutes. For the last and final step, add the remaining chocolate, the butter, and the vanilla extract. Remove from heat, continue to stir, and set aside to cool sauce to your liking.
I like to store my fudge sauce in mason jars- it will last up to 2 weeks in your refrigerator. Â When reheating it, I recommend placing a few tablespoons (or however much you are serving) in a separate dish and microwaving it for 10-15 seconds at a time. Fair warning, this is a recipe with a fair amount of sugar, and sugar gets hot fast- be cautious when reheating so you don’t burn yourself.Â
